Once upon a time…

...you moved through the world with a sense of wonder.

You could lose yourself in the way the light filtered through the trees, the smell of the earth after it rained, the feeling that life was quietly inviting you into something beautiful.

You carried dreams that were bigger than accomplishments.

You imagined meaningful work. Deep love. A home that felt warm and welcoming. Friendships that lasted a lifetime. A life that felt rich with purpose, beauty, and belonging.

You stepped into your life believing you could hold onto all of it—the wonder, the meaning, and the woman you were becoming.

And in many ways, you did.

You answered the call on your heart. You built meaningful work. You loved deeply. You became someone people trust, someone whose presence steadies a room and whose heart naturally reaches toward those who are hurting. The life you imagined became your life.

And somewhere within its beautiful fullness, you got lost.

There was always another person to care for, another responsibility to carry, another good reason to keep going.

Little by little, the voice of your own heart became harder to hear.

Not because it disappeared, but because there was so little space to listen.

Then, every now and then, something catches you off guard.

The golden light spilling across a field.

A walk in the woods.

Music that stirs something you can't explain.

You catch a glimpse of the woman who once moved through the world with wonder.

And you find yourself quietly asking,

Where did she go?

Not because she's gone.

Because she's waiting for you to come back to her.

And there’s grief in that.

The grief of realizing you drifted away from yourself without ever meaning to. The grief of wondering how many years have passed since you truly felt at home in your own life.

And perhaps the deepest grief of all is not knowing how to find your way back.

So you keep moving. The calendar keeps filling. The inbox keeps growing. The people you love still need you. You tell yourself you're okay, even when something in your bones knows otherwise.

What if the version of you who dreamed those dreams wasn’t naïve—but wise? And she’s still in there, waiting, buried under the weight of your life.

This is the day you turn your attention inward again, remembering that the woman you've been longing for has been within you all along.

and this is exactly why I created…

A Sacred Pause: Tending Your Body, Your Inner World, and the Ancient Rhythms Within

Together, we’ll gather for a full day at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, CO on Saturday, September 19 from 9am - 5pm.

We'll honor this sacred turning of the seasons. We'll celebrate what this year has grown within you, gently acknowledge what is ready to be released, and create space to listen for what your heart is asking as you step into the quieter months ahead.

In the intimate rhythm of a women's circle, this day weaves together guided meditation, gentle somatic movement, time in nature, ritual, reflection, nourishing food, and heartfelt conversation.

Surrounded by a small community of women, you'll be invited to slow down enough to hear yourself again—to remember what matters, to tend to your own heart with reverence, and to find your way back to the woman who has been waiting for you all along.

A beautiful farm-to-table lunch and afternoon snack are included, offering another invitation to receive, to savor, and to let yourself be nourished.

I created A Sacred Pause because I believe the women who spend their lives tending others deserve spaces where they, too, are deeply tended. My work brings together the science of medicine, the wisdom of the body, and the ancient practice of women gathering in circle. It is my honor to hold this space with steadiness, compassion, and deep respect for the journey that has brought you here.

And when you leave?

Your life won't suddenly become less full.

The people you love will still need you. Your work will still matter. The invitations and responsibilities of your life will still be waiting.

But something will have shifted.

You'll return with a quieter, steadier relationship with yourself.

You'll remember that your own heart belongs in the conversation. That your longings deserve your attention. That tending to yourself isn't something you do after everything else is finished—it's part of how you live well.

The seasons will begin to feel less like something happening around you and more like something you're participating in. You'll find yourself noticing the light, lingering a little longer on a walk, listening more carefully when your body asks for rest or your heart asks for something different.

Not because you've become someone new.

Because you've remembered someone you've always been.

This isn't a day that changes your life.

It's a day that changes the way you return to it.

At A Sacred Pause…

You'll spend the day in an intimate circle of thoughtful, deep-feeling women who, like you, are committed to living with intention and presence.

Together, we'll create a space where you can be seen, supported, and deeply tended in the company of women who understand both the beauty and the weight of caring deeply.

This isn't a large retreat where you quietly disappear into the background. It's an intentionally small gathering of no more than ten women, creating space for meaningful conversation, genuine connection, and thoughtful guidance throughout the day.

I'll walk beside you with the steadiness of both a physician and a circle keeper, offering reflection, gentle guidance, and practices that help you listen more deeply to your own wisdom. The circle itself becomes part of the medicine as each woman's story, insight, and courage illuminate something in the others.

This is a rare opportunity to step away from the noise, to be deeply tended, and to experience the profound relief of being with women who understand that even a beautiful life can leave you longing for something deeper.

You’ll be Led by a Guide Who Has Walked the Path

Your guide, Sonny Miles, MD, is an expert facilitator, intuitive healer, and skilled space holder. She is also a conventionally trained physician who has walked her own profound healing journey. Over the years, she has explored the mind, body, and spirit from many angles and her deepest work has been weaving these threads together—creating truly integrated practices that meet the whole person.

Sonny doesn’t just teach this work—she embodies it. She knows what it takes to turn inward, to listen, and to create space for transformation. She will lead you deep into yourself with both courage and care—because she knows that real transformation often lives beneath the surface.

She isn’t afraid of hard conversations, difficult emotions, or the tender places you may have avoided. Her work goes to the roots—meeting grief, pain, and the buried stories that still shape how you live. And she will hold steady as you meet them too, creating a space that is safe enough, brave enough, and sacred enough for you to come home to yourself.

You’ll be Transformed by A Thoughtfully Crafted Container

A Sacred Pause is intentionally designed to create a space that truly supports deep healing. Each element of the day works together to help you reconnect with yourself and invite change that lasts.

Guided meditation, reflective writing, and sharing invite you to slow down, turn inward, and connect with your truth.
Ritual and somatic movement then invite the release of emotions or patterns you’ve been carrying, gently moving energy that has been stuck.
Sound and the natural surroundings nurture and regulate your nervous system, creating a sense of ease and spaciousness in both body and mind.

And in a circle of women, you’ll be witnessed—held and seen in a way that changes the experience. Healing in community is different than the healing we do alone. It is deeper. Stronger. More sustaining.

This day is a container for what’s ready to be felt, released, and reclaimed—with support to carry that shift into your life beyond the retreat.

You’ll be Held by the Land

A Sacred Pause unfolds at Sunrise Ranch, a spiritual retreat center nestled in a beautiful valley in Loveland, CO.

This is a place that has been home to healing work for many years—and the energy of that work lingers in both the land and the space itself. When we step into it, we are held not only by the earth beneath our feet but by the collective healing energy that has been cultivated here over time.

You’ll be nourished with a farm-to-table lunch and snack, supporting your body as you nourish your spirit.

It’s the kind of place that invites you to pause, breathe, and remember what matters.

A Sacred Pause:

And so are you.
